Our Elementary school offers first through fifth grades. We pride ourselves on being a close knit community that values each and every child and their unique journey through childhood. We are proud of being an international and culturally diverse school.
Students’ ages range from six to eleven years old. Our students are offered a very special environment where they can work both in small groups during core curriculum classes, and in larger groups during classes such as Music, Art, IT and Creative Writing, to name a few. In recent years, we have developed our very own Classroom Economy, giving the students some appropriate decision making opportunities and responsibility over how their community works.
Both Mathematics and Language Arts courses are Common Core Aligned. We also offer an Integrated Science class, where we cross over curriculums in four different key areas; Social Science, Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science.
We respect the academic and physical demands on our young student-athletes, therefore the teachers and athletic coaches work closely together, with daily communication about our students’ performance both in the classroom and on the court. Our students not only strive for academic excellence but they are also continually working towards being more considerate, thoughtful, and productive members of their community.

Our Academic Advisors are responsible for counseling and providing guidance to their assigned advisees and for coordinating, together with all faculty, work contributing to their progress. Academic Advisors monitor their student’s welfare in the school and work closely with the Elemiddle and High School Principals, Guidance Counselor, and Primary Coaches on their continual academic, athletic, social and emotional development.
Those students who are enrolled in the Academia Sánchez-Casal also have a primary coach as their athletic advisor. The academic and athletic advisors meet on a regular basis and work closely together to best support their mutual student-athletes. The advisory team provides a fundamental support system for all student-athletes.
MUSIC AND ARTS
Our Elementary School students participate in the music program. Students learn the use of several percussion and wind instruments, and they also learn how to sing. The students use their musical skills to produce and present a musical show at the end of each semester for the faculty and parents.
Art History and Art Theory are also taught throughout the semester based on the topics the students are learning about in their core subject areas.
SENSE OF COMMUNITY
In the Elementary Program, every student has a place in the community and participates in the classroom economy. On a monthly basis, the students have the opportunity to apply for jobs that give them the power to influence their own environment. Students have a sense of ownership over their learning and their classroom, and everyone senses that they are part of a tightly knit community.
Our curriculum is based on the Common Core Standards of the American Educational System, and builds a strong foundation for academic and personal growth through sequential and age-appropriate studies. The Elementary School program includes the following subjects:
